Toddle Setup Guide for Teachers

Add a Thinking Mode task to a Toddle assignment and send a grade back to Toddle.

If your school has added Thinking Mode to Toddle, you can attach a Thinking Mode task to any assignment. Students open it from the assignment without needing an access code, and you can post their grades back to Toddle.

If Thinking Mode isn’t in the list of external tools, your school’s Toddle administrator needs to add it first. Send them the Toddle Setup Guide.

Add a Thinking Mode task to Toddle

The first time you open Thinking Mode from Toddle without a Thinking Mode account, we email you a link to confirm your account. Click the link, then add Thinking Mode to the assignment again. After that, the task picker opens straight away.

  • Toddle allows one external tool for each assignment.

  • Toddle needs a subject on the learning experience before it will assign it.

  • If students see Waiting for the class to begin, open the task from the assignment in Toddle and click Open session.

Send a grade back to Toddle

Thinking Mode sends Toddle a grade, which comes from a rubric. Add a rubric to your task first: in Thinking Mode, edit the task and choose Select rubric. Then score it for each student.

  • Toddle shows the score out of the assignment’s Maximum score. A rubric score of 12 out of 15 shows as 80 out of 100 when the maximum is 100.

  • Students see their conversation, submitted work and AI evaluation on their Thinking Mode results page once you release them. See How do I release results to students?

  • Posting doesn’t mark the work as turned in, and the student can’t see the score until you share it in Toddle. Ask students to click Mark as done in Toddle when they finish.
