LTI Integration — Toddle Setup Guide

This guide is for your school’s Toddle administrator. It adds Thinking Mode to Toddle as an LTI 1.3 tool. Teachers can then add a Thinking Mode task to an assignment, students open it from the assignment, and teachers can post each student’s grade back to Toddle. Students see their conversation, submitted work and AI evaluation in Thinking Mode once their teacher releases them.

You need access to Toddle’s admin settings for LTI apps. If you can’t see them, ask Toddle support to add the tool for you, and send them the values in Part 1.

Part 1: Add Thinking Mode in Toddle

Step 1. In Toddle, open Admin, then LTI apps, and add a new tool.

Step 2. In Edit LTI details, enter the following:

• Programme: choose the programmes whose teachers will use Thinking Mode

• Name: Thinking Mode

• Initiate login URL: https://thinkingmode.com/wp-json/socraticxr-lti/v1/login

• Launch/Redirect URL(s): enter each on a new line:

  • https://thinkingmode.com/wp-json/socraticxr-lti/v1/generic-launch

  • https://thinkingmode.com/wp-json/socraticxr-lti/v1/redirect

• Keyset URL: https://thinkingmode.com/wp-json/socraticxr-lti/v1/jwks

• Launch Preference: New tab

• Target link URI: https://thinkingmode.com/wp-json/socraticxr-lti/v1/generic-launch

• Icon URL: https://thinkingmode.com/landing/logo-icon.png

• Custom parameter: leave blank

• Placement: Assignment

• Message type: Deep linking

• Privacy level: Public

• Allow grade passback: On

Leave Allow roster access, Show response to students, Allow reading result and Allow reading gradebook columns Off.

Step 3. Tick Enable LTI tool for teachers, then click Save.

Part 2: Send us your Toddle connection details

Step 4. Open Thinking Mode in the list of LTI apps again. At the top of Edit LTI details, Toddle LTI Credentials lists the values we need to register your school in Thinking Mode. Please copy each one and email them to support@thinkingmode.com:

• Issuer URL

• Client ID

• Login URL

• Keyset URL

• Token URL

• Deployment ID

Each of those has a copy icon in Toddle, so the quickest approach is to copy and paste them straight into your email to us.

Part 3: We confirm, then you test

Step 5. We register your school and reply within 2 business days to confirm it is ready to test.

Step 6. As a teacher, add Thinking Mode to an assignment using the Toddle Setup Guide for Teachers. The first time a teacher opens Thinking Mode from Toddle without a Thinking Mode account, we email them a link to confirm their account. They click the link, then add Thinking Mode to the assignment again. After that, it opens straight to the task picker.
