How do I add resources to student instructions?

Allow students to access additional resources (PDF, image and video) while completing a task and choose when students see each one.

Getting startedinstructionsresourcesPDFtasksDraft Mode

Student instructions can be more than one block of text. Add several resources including written notes, PDFs, images and video. Give each a name, and put them in the order students should read them. Students open them one at a time.

You can also choose when each resource appears: before students start, while they write, or both. That lets you hold a resource back until the timer begins.

Teachers can also allow students to access an in-built calculator, either basic or scientific.

Adding a resource

Worth knowing

  • For a PDF or Image, you upload the file. Video requires an accessible URL.

  • Use the up and down arrows beside a resource to change the order, and the bin icon to remove one. Nothing changes for students until you save the task.

  • A task can have up to 12 resources.

  • In Draft Mode, While writing resources sit beside the student’s draft. In Discussion and Defence Mode they appear in a panel beside the chat.
